tchengSijun (Tony) Cheng

Managing Director

Tony Cheng has represented Sinosteel Australia Mining Pty Ltd. since Nov 2005 and is also the MD of Sinosteel Ocean Capital Pty Ltd. He holds a Master’s Degree in the international finance.

He joined Sinosteel Corporation in 1985 and has had comprehensive responsibility for major projects including the importation of technology for steel making and mining equipment for all major Chinese steel mills.

Mr Cheng has also been general manager of the Sinosteel Investment Company, responsible for Sinosteel investment activities and mergers within China.


giulioGiulio Casello

Chief Operating Officer

Giulio is a highly experienced executive with national and global exposure in manufacturing environments for blue chip organisations. Backed by 28 years of experience, he has a track record of success with business development and corporate strategy.

He joins the company from Century Aluminum Company in the United States, where as Senior Vice President, Business Development he was responsible for developing and implementing a growth plan in aluminum, alumina and critical raw materials (carbon, bauxite, energy) and managing new projects across the globe. 

He has also held a number of significant positions in Alcoa spanning across 20 years, including Director of WA Operations, General Manager Alcoa World Chemicals  and Kwinana Alumina Refinery Location Manager.


bfarringtonBrad Farrington

Chief Financial Officer (CFO)

Brad is a highly credentialed financial officer and chartered accountant with considerable experience in Australia and the United Kingdom. He was previously CFO at Harvey Beef Group and CFO and general manager, business services at Epic Energy Group.

Brad has also held senior taxation consulting roles with major chartered accounting firms.


jmizeraJulian Mizera

Projects Director

Julian has over 20 years of project experience across numerous industries including; infrastructure, general mining and mineral processing, alumina, nickel, coal and gold. Julian has been involved in all areas of project development including strategic planning, feasibility studies, investment analysis, construction and corporate governance.

Julian has previously held various roles with a range of organizations including BHP Billiton, Newcrest Mining, Alcoa of Australia, Kaiser Engineers and Worley Parsons.


pallsoppPhil Allsopp

Operations Manager

Phil brings with him more than 25 years experience in the resources industry in Western Australia, Tasmania and Queensland. In his role as Operations Manager, Phil is responsible for the leadership, direction and performance of Sinosteel Midwest’s iron ore operations, ore haulage and port operations in the Mid West region.


muirTony Muir

Financial Controller

Tony is a Chartered Accountant with more than 10 years experience. He has worked most of his career in the resources industry, across various commodities including base and non-ferrous metals.

Tony has recently held senior finance positions for ASX and TSX listed companies, and was instrumental in their transition from project and development phases through to being successful producers. He has also previously held senior roles in a mid-tier Chartered Accounting firm.

Tony holds a Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting) from Curtin University and is a Member of Institute of Chartered Accountants Australia.

 


tchengPeter Stockman

Exploration Manager

 Peter is a geologist with over 20 years mineral industry experience gained mainly in operating environments across a broad range of commodities including gold, nickel, uranium and copper in Australia, Africa, South East Asia and Papua New Guinea. 

He has held a number of senior technical or geological management positions with several companies including Placer Dome, WMC Resources Ltd, ERA (North) Ltd, Newcrest and Oxiana. In these roles he focused particularly on system improvements, staff development, increasing the resource inventory and expanding the geological understanding of the relevant project. 


msilbertMichael Silbert

B. Juris LLB B.A. (Hons)
Legal Counsel and Company Secretary

Michael has been an in-house lawyer for various private and public companies for more than 20 years. He has held the position of in-house counsel and company secretary for ASX listed companies, been responsible for all the legal, ASX, ASIC and other corporate governance matters.

Michael has also held a number of senior commercial, legal, communications, corporate secretariat and advisory roles both in the UK, Australia and Asia.


rbrooksRick Brooks

Manager Organisation and Development

Rick has over 25 years experience in leadership roles implementing significant cultural, organisational and technological change within the resources, oil and gas, manufacturing and technology sectors.

He has undertaken roles in a line and consulting capacity for organisations such as Woodside, Oil Search, Telstra, Energis, Barrick, Rio Tinto and ConocoPhillips in Europe, PNG and Australia. These roles have spanned operations, HR, finance, IM&T, as well as business development.

Community Relations Manager

Rowena has 18 years of solid experience working in community development and indigenous engagement throughout Western Australia.

In her current role she is responsible for managing community partnerships, corporate sponsorship and leadership in the delivery of a respectful indigenous engagement framework for Sinosteel Midwest and its communities.

Development Manager

Andrew has over 18 years experience in the resources industry during which he has undertaken corporate, operational and project roles. 

Over this period Andrew has been involved in all facets of project execution including the development of business strategy, involvement in M&A activities and leadership roles in major projects (both studies and implementation phases.) This includes continuous involvement over the last 10 years in multi-billion dollar projects for organisations such as BHP Billiton, Rio Tinto, Alcoa and WorleyParsons, both internationally and within Australia.
He holds a Bachelor of Engineering from the University of Western Australia and a Graduate Diploma in Applied Finance and Investment from the Financial Services Institute of Australiasia (FINSIA).


tchengWayne Ennor

Approvals Manager

 Wayne has over 13 years experience in environmental regulation, management and approvals.

He has previously worked as Regional Program Manager with the Department of Environment and Conservation managing various areas of business including industry regulation, waste management, contaminated sites, native vegetation clearing, land-use planning and water licensing.  
Wayne is responsible for all Sinosteel Midwest’s project approvals including environment and Indigenous heritage management.
He holds a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Health from Curtin University.
